The Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW) presents its 18th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest sponsored by SAW, BMI, Oasis Duplication, Omega Recording Studios and TAXI.
The contest provides recognition for up-and-coming songwriters, with results printed in national, regional and local press, as well as on the Internet. The 10 categories include jazz, folk, country, adult contemporary and rap, among others, with prizes ranging from $1,000 in cash to gift certificates for CD mastering by Omega Studios to memberships in TAXI. In addition, all Gold and Silver winners from each of the 10 categories will be recorded onto CD to be distributed to top personnel at several major record labels, publishing companies, Websites and regional radio stations.
The judges are local and regional industry reps from Washington, D.C., Baltimore and the Virginia area.
