Mix Online's Forum pages -- the Helpfile, Talkback, and HorrorStories -- are now readable by anyone...no registration required."We've opened up the Forums to everybody by putting in a guest log-on,"explained Web editor Paul Lehrman. "We would like to see more peopleparticipate in our Forums, which provide some of the best on-linecross-specturm help in the industry. But Web users are sometimes alittle reluctant to fill out a registration form when they don't knowwhat they're getting. This way, they can browse all of the Forums andsee the kind of quality discussions that are going on."

Posting a message to the Forum still requires registration. "Themembership form is very straightforward, and takes only a minute," saidLehrman. "Of course, it doesn't cost anything. And in line with goodWeb practices, we allow any member to opt out of receiving e-mail fromus or any of our clients, either when they register, or any time afterthat."

Registration is still required to view the Mixfull-text-and-graphics archives, which date back to 1996; the FieldTest archives; or the Fun pages, which is the most comprehensivecollection of audio, computer, and music humor on the Internet.
