Whether it’s at the Troubadour in Los Angeles or the Metro in Chicago, the alternative music scene is alive and kicking across the country. And two of today’s most talked-about young bands are turning recent gigs at these famed venues into the launching pads for mega-stardom.

In California, it’s Trapt, a Los Gatos-based quartet with a hard-driving sound and the attitude to match. The band kicked off its first tour as headliners last November. Trapt is using Evolution Wireless 300 IEMs with matching bodypacks and an E 865 capsule on the handheld mic.

In Chicago, it’s OK GO, a foursome with a reputation as one of the city’s hottest live acts and a smart, fresh sound. OK GO prefers the hard-wired Evolution E 865 microphone for vocals and Evolution 609s, 604s and 602s for instruments.
