On Thursday, February 26th 2004 at 7:30 p.m., RSPE Audio Solutions and Pro Tools users will be getting together with Apple Emagic for an evening of discussion in Los Angeles. The evening will include an overview and training session on the new combined Logic Pro package and integrating Logic Pro and Pro Tools.

As of January 30, 2004, Apple has been taking orders for the new streamlined Emagic product line that was announced at NAMM. The newly released package, Logic Pro 6, includes all of the soft synths and effects plug-ins previously sold separately, including the new Space Designer plug-in. The package also includes the drivers and add-ins, Emagic System bridge and the HD extension required to run Logic Pro on a Pro Tools TDM system, although the Epic TDM plug-ins an the Host TDM Enabler have been discontinued.
Apple has also launched a cut-down version of Emagic Logic Pro called Logic Express, fitting in with the Final Cut Pro/Final Cut Express. Logic Control is now only available as a feature-enhanced Mackie Product, the Mackie Control Universal (also compatible with Pro Tools in HUI mode).
Logic Pro sells for $999 and Logic Express at $299. For existing owners of Logic 5/6—Gold or Platinum—an upgrade to Logic Pro, including all the soft synths and extras, is $199.
