PEAVEY PVM 480
July 2005—The PVM 480 ($329.99) from Peavey (www.peavey.com) is a pre-polarized electret condenser mic using a supercardioid polar pattern. The PVM 480, featuring a high ratio of front-to-back rejection and an extended frequency response, is finished in black powder-coat and may be phantom-powered from any source providing 9 to 52V DC. Frequency response is 40 to 20k Hz with a max. SPL of 128 dB.

PEAVEY PVM 22
July 2005—Peavey’s PVM 22 Diamond Series™ ($199) is a dynamic microphone incorporating a neodymium iron-boron magnet for increased sensitivity. A cardioid pickup pattern provides 20 dB of front-to-back rejection, and a diamond-coated diaphragm delivers extended frequency response and quick transient response. Frequency response is 50 to 16k Hz with a max. SPL of 140 dB; impedance is 400 ohms.

PEAVEY STUDIO PRO CM1
March 2005—Peavey’s cardioid Studio Pro CM1 is designed for studio and live use. Its medium-format condenser element is designed to handle SPL levels up to 136 dB. Frequency response is 50 to 16k Hz.

PEAVEY STUDIO MICS
January 2002—The StudioPro® M1 and M2 from Peavey
Electronics are studio condensers featuring a large, dual-diaphragm
capsule. The M1 is a cardioid model, while the M2 has selectable omni,
cardioid and figure-8 patterns. Both mics include a 10dB pad for
handling up to 140dB SPL without distortion. A switchable highpass
filter
can be used to compensate for proximity effect and reduce
unwanted low frequencies. The StudioPro M1 is $250; the M2 is $370. A
shockmount is optional.

PEAVEY PVM 22
June 2001—Part of Peavey’s Diamond Series, the PVM 22 dynamic cardioid mic has a neodymium magnet with more than twice the sensitivity of conventional designs. The mic also features a diamond-coated diaphragm and a new shock-mounting system using high-tech polymers for reduced handling and cable noise. Retail is $149.99.
