Phunk Junkeez Rely on Cool Edit Pro

When the Phunk Junkeez release their next album Rock-It Science this coming March, the Arizona-based rap/rock band will count Syntrillium Software’s Cool Edit Pro as a key production element. The band took particular advantage of th PC-based software’s loop library and effects functions to produce the album.

“We are not studio wizs,” explained the band’s bassist Jim Woodling, aka Jumbo. “We needed software that was both easy-to-use and affordable, and Cool Edit Pro fit the bill.” Jumbo said that the band used many of Syntrillium’s loops (www.loopology.com), sampling them into their drum machine and putting them through a number of effects to create new loops.

“Cool Edit Pro let me accomplish in an hour what I paid a guy for five hours of editing studio time with the last album,” Jumbo continued. “As an independent band, the quicker and more efficiently you can get something done, the more it benefits your cause.”
