Propellerhead Software, developers of products such as Reason,ReCycle and ReBirth, recently announced Teaching Music with Reason, acurriculum for music education based on Reason. Based on a speciallyadapted version of Reason, the curriculum is designed for use by highschool teachers in class music lessons. It can also be used as a basisfor college level introductory modules in Music or MusicTechnology.
The Teaching Music with Reason package contains material for twosemesters with 21 complete lessons, teacher’s lesson preparationmaterial, teaching plans, student worksheets, student “howto” guides, song files in contemporary styles, a full featuredReason version for the teacher and ten Reason-adapted studentversions.
The product is designed to allow integration with existing areas ofa particular national, state, or school curriculum, coveringfundamental skills that include listening, understanding basic musicalelements and applying technical knowledge in a creative context.
