In recognition of Ray Dolby’s career achievements, the Academyof Television Arts and Sciences will present him with the Charles F.Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2003 Primetime EmmyEngineering Awards on September 13.

The Academy’s Engineering Awards are overseen by theTechnology and Convergence Awards Committee’s co-chairs CristyTrembly and Brian Seth Hurst. The Emmy Award is given to an individual,company or an organization for developments in engineering that areeither improve on existing methods or materially affect thetransmission, recording or reception of television.
