RIAA, Kickworks Sign Agreement for Legal Downloads

The Recording Industry Association of America and Kickworks have signed an agreement to make available the RIAA library for online delivery via Kickworks Broadcast Radio Network . 4/18/2001 8:00 AM Eastern

Under the terms of the agreement, Kickworks has gained the legal rights to RIAA member recordings, which account for more than 90% of all legitimate recordings in the U.S.

Kickworks DJ, who can be anyone, anywhere, will have access to these recordings in broadcasts that are in accordance with the DMCA statutory license.

"We enjoyed working with Kickworks on their innovative approach to Internet radio," said Steve Marks, RIAA senior VP of business and legal affairs. "We look forward to working further with Kickworks in their effort to provide an exciting radio experience."
