Samson

SAMSON C01August 2003—The Samson C01 condenser mic has a 19mm diaphragm, gold-plated XLR connector, LED phantom power indicator and a cardioid pattern.

SAMSON C05
July 2005—The C05 ($175) from Samson (www.samsontech.com) is a cardioid condenser designed for high sensitivity and extended frequency response. Built into a lightweight, compact body, the C05 can easily be a handheld for long periods without fatigue. Internal shock-mounting reduces handling noise, while the tight pattern minimizes feedback and rejects off-axis sound. The C05 requires 48V phantom power. Frequency response is 50 to 18k Hz with a max. SPL of 130 dB (0.5% THD); impedance is 200 ohms.

SAMSON Q7
July 2005—Samson’s Q7 ($199) dynamic mic has a low-mass neodymium element with a supercardioid pattern, internal shock isolation and built-in windscreen. Its die-cast zinc-alloy housing ensures reliable performance under demanding conditions. Frequency response is 80 to 12k Hz; impedance is 200 ohms.

SAMSON CL7
March 2005—The CL7 studio condenser microphone from Samson features a large 1.1-inch capsule with 3-micron gold-sputtered diaphragm and a cardioid pickup pattern. The CL7 has a switchable highpass filter (12 dB/octave at 100 Hz) and a switchable 10dB pad for handling signals with high SPLs. A swivel stand-mount and carry case are included.

SAMSON C01
August 2003—The Samson C01 condenser mic has a 19mm diaphragm,
gold-plated XLR connector, LED phantom power indicator and a cardioid
pattern. Retail is $149.99; the optional SP01 shockmount is $39.95.

SAMSON DRUM MICS
March 2003—At Winter NAMM, Samson’s new low-cost ($59 and up)
drum mics include models voiced for snare, toms, kick and overheads. We
liked the secure, shock-absorbing drum-mounting clips provided free
with the snare and tom models. Break the (weight and hassle) bonds of
mic stands!

SAMSON Q1
June 2001—Samson’s Q1 ($400) is a cardioid condenser mic slated for live and project studio recording use. Like every condenser, the Q1 requires phantom power; XLR connectors are standard.
