At NAB 2004 (booth #N3918), Sanken will show four new microphones.
The ultra-miniature COS-22 is a dual-capsule lavalier mic that measures 1.25 inches in length and offers a frequency response up to 20,000 Hz. The 2-channel, dual-omnidirectional COS-22 is designed for a variety of applications, including stereo applications, redundant lavalier live broadcast usage and boundary-style miking.
The CO-100K omni-directional condenser microphone is a100kHz mic designed for professional recording and not for measurement purposes. Designed by Sanken with NHK Science and Technical Research Laboratories, the CO-100K is geared for full-spectrum, high-frequency response in recording for SACD, DVD-A and future high-resolution formats.
The CUW-180 is two cardioid condenser microphones in one body. Each of the two 180-degree capsules is independently adjustable, providing a versatile microphone for a variety of stereo and surround recording applications. For stereo recording, such as common X-Y configurations, the position of both capsules maintains optimum on-axis response and phase coherence. For surround applications, two CUW-180 mics can capture four channels of L/R/S/Ls/Rs program simultaneously, with four independently adjustable signals. Two CUW-180s are ideal for true 4-channel recording.
The new Sanken HAD-48 microphone preamplifier provides selectable gains of +20 dB or +40 dB to boost signal levels, and features an XLR-style barrel (XLR-3M/XLR-3F) that is 4.14 inches long. Requiring no batteries, the HAD-48 operates with 48-volt phantom power and draws less than 4.5 mA.
