The Sheldon recently acquired a collection of AKG (www.akgusa.com) microphones and headphones to augment its in-house sound and recording systems.

it is currently using the AKG C 900 condenser vocal microphones, the C 1000 S probe condenser microphones, the D 112 bass microphones, the C 414 large-diaphragm condenser microphones and the K 240 Studio headphones. Many of the artists who perform and record at the Sheldon will use these AKG products to augment their performances.

Dale Benz, the Sheldon’s curator and director, said, “AKG makes the best microphones in the world, and in such a unique and remarkable acoustic setting, we can only rely on AKG to deliver all of the nuances of the incredible performances at our concert hall.”

The Sheldon regularly hosts artists such as Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Kiri Te Kanawha, Wynton Marsalis, Willie Nelson, Itzhak Perlman and Jessye Norman. Upcoming events include performances by Diane Schuur, Gato Barbieri, Doc Watson, John McEuen and Jimmy Ibbotson, Amy Oshiro, Larry Coryell, Leo Kottke and many others.
