Sony’s pre-packaged UHF wireless mic systems can now be ordered as separate components.
“Our UWP wireless microphone systems have quickly developed a devoted following because they offer high-quality performance at a reasonable price for today’s musicians,” said Paul Foschino, senior manager for professional audio at Sony Electronics. “Outfitted with rugged housings, these handhelds have internal antennas and a battery life that lasts nearly six hours, providing working musicians with a reliable wireless system. The added versatility of separate components makes our UWP systems even more attractive. Musicians can build on pre-packaged combinations or create their own custom configurations from scratch. The added flexibility makes these systems the ones that musicians can grow with.”
The systems’ UHF transmissions are less susceptible to interference and dropouts typical with lower-cost VHF systems. Added enhancements include PLL (Phase Locked Loop) circuitry; belt packs and mic transmitters with LCDs to display the system’s complete status information; and tone-squelch circuitry automatically removes ambient noise to produce a clean, crisp sound.
The new UWP Wireless components include the following: UTX-B1C Body-Back Transmitter (SRP: $450) with an omni-directional lavalier microphone that is available in channels 62 through 65 or 66 through 69; the UTX-B1S Body-Back Transmitter ($395) with a uni-directional lavalier microphone is available in channels 62 through 65 or 66 through 69; the UTX-H1 Handheld Microphone ($395) is available in channels 62 through 65 or 66 through 69; the URX-P1 Portable ($495) is designed for mounting onto a camera and is available in channels 62 through 65 or 66 through 69; the URX-R1 Half-Rack Diversity Receiver ($495) is available in channels 62 through 65 or 66 through 69; the URX-M1 Diversity Tuner Module is designed for simultaneous multichannel operation with Sony’s MB-806A ($395) multichannel rack system, and is available in channels 62 through 65 or 66 through 69; the RMM-URXR1S Single Rackmount for the URX-R1 Half-Rack Receiver is available for the suggested list price of $45; and the RMM-URXR1D Dual Rackmount for the URX-R1 Half-Rack Receiver is also available for the suggested list price of $70.
