SOUNDFIELD SPS200
June 2007—A new, affordable model from SoundField (www.soundfield.com), the SPS200 can produce simultaneous phase-coherent stereo and 5.1 if required, decoding its output to the required formats via two cross-platform plug-ins. The mic also features remote control over pickup pattern and orientation without moving the mic.

SOUNDFIELD DSF-2
December 2006—SoundField has released a version of its B-format, multi-channel recording system that outputs signals digitally. Invented to overcome the problems associated with long cable runs at sporting events, the DSF-2 offers live decoding to stereo, stereo M/S and 4-channel B-format. The stereo signal can be output in analog or digital domains (48/96/192 kHz) via XLR or unbalanced BNC connectors, respectively, while the stereo M/S and B-format signals can only be output digitally. This signal can be transported over long distances and then decoded using SoundField's SP451 hardware processor or Surround Zone plug-in.

November 2006—The SoundField DSF-2 features all the things that made the company popular with broadcast and post users, along with a digital output that enables long cable runs.

SOUNDFIELD ST350
December 2005—Need to capture surround sound in the field but don't want to pack a ton of gear? Then you may want to look at the new portable ST350 ($5,900) microphone from SoundField. The AC- or battery-powered ST350 comprises a lightweight multi-capsule microphone and fully featured compact mic preamp/control unit that generates surround and stereo simultaneously at balanced line-levels. The mic is capable of driving long cable runs, enabling it to be positioned hundreds of yards away from its control unit or alternatively handheld on a short boom. Control unit features include high-performance mic pre's with discretely switched 6dB gain steps and five-segment LED bar graph for level monitoring. Polar pattern control is continuously variable from omni through figure-8, with a width control providing everything from mono to wide-image stereo. Other features include highpass filtering, switchable M/S output and headphone monitoring.

SOUNDFIELD ST350
October 2005—The new portable ST350 offers SoundField’s unique 3-D technology in a miniaturized package that’s powered by either AC or battery. Dispensing with the compromises associated with portable recording, the ST350 system comprises a lightweight multicapsule microphone and fully featured compact mic pre/control unit that generates surround and stereo simultaneously at balanced line-levels.

SOUNDFIELD B-FORMAT MIC
November 2002—Soundfield's SPS422B mic offers four operational modes: mono, M/S, stereo and B-Format. Retaining all of the SPS422 model's features and sound quality, the SPS422B adds B-Format direct outputs to enable expansion into 5.1 and future multichannel formats. The two-piece SPS422B system comprises a multicapsule mic and a one-rackspace preamp/processor that controls the system and provides all required mic preamps. When used with Soundfield's SP451 processor (to extract 5.1 from B-Format), the system can deliver “zero phase error” 5.1.
