Germany-based SPL (Sound Performance Lab) announced plans for a North American office to be set up in the Los Angeles area in mid-August 2002, which will be operated by Herb Quick. SPL hopes to be fully operational by September.
“We’ve made several attempts to set foot in North America with various distribution partners,” explained managing director Peter Waschke. “A lot of people know about our products, but so far haven’t known how to get information or buy our gear.” SPL partner Hermann Gier added, “Nothing’s quite like having your own subsidiary. And with Herb on the front and a couple of incredible new products, we’re certain that we’ll finally achieve the presence we need.”
