STUDIO PROJECTS STEREO MICApril 2003—Studio Projects intros two new stereo mics. The $999 LSD-2 is a solid-state stereo model with two dual-membrane condenser

STUDIO PROJECTS LSD-2
February 2007—Studio Projects’ LSD-2 ($1,000, www.studioprojectsusa.com) puts two dual-membrane condenser mics within a single housing, allowing for X/Y, M-S and Blumlein techniques. Its 1.06-inch diameter capsules are mounted in close proximity on a vertical axis; the upper-capsule assembly rotates 270 degrees relative to the lower capsule. A single-layer brass mesh surrounds the capsules. Two three-way switches control polar response, highpass filtering and -10dB pad for each capsule. The LSD-2 ships with a dedicated 7-pin XLR to dual 3-pin XLR cable, windscreen, shockmount and carrying case.

STUDIO PROJECTS B SERIES
October 2006—All B Series Mics have been significantly upgraded. Housed in matte-silver bodies with a sleek new look, each mic has a stylish tri-color emblem. Features have been added in many cases, allowing for greater flexibility of configuration. A new headstock with a wider, heavier mesh grille, combined with improvements to the capsules and electronics, result in improved sonic characteristics. All B Series mics include elastic suspension and foam windscreens.

STUDIO PROJECTS C SERIES
October 2006—All C Series mics have undergone a significant upgrade. Updates include a sleek new look and a redesigned headstock. Changes to the capsule design and electronics allow for lower self-noise, greater dynamic range and improved sonic characteristics. In many cases, features have been added, such as additional pad and highpass filter settings, resulting in a greater number of possible configurations. All C Series mics include the new Halo elastic suspension, foam windscreen and flight case.

STUDIO PROJECTS CS1
March 2005—Unveiled at NAMM, Studio Projects’ lollipop-shaped CS1 is a cardioid, large-diaphragm condenser with high/lowpass filters and pad—each with four selections. The similar CS3 adds five pattern choices.

STUDIO PROJECTS STEREO MIC
April 2003—Studio Projects intros two new stereo mics. The $999
LSD-2 is a solid-state stereo model with two dual-membrane condenser
capsules mounted vertically on-axis; the upper capsule can rotate 270
degrees. Featuring a highpass filter, a -10dB pad and polar response
switches for each capsule, the LSD-2 is designed for coincident-pair
recording; the proximity of the two capsules reduces phase cancellation
and results in a mono-compatible stereo signal.

STUDIO PROJECTS LSD2
March 2003—At Winter NAMM, Studio Projects announced that it is
now shipping its LSD2, a stereo condenser with 270-degree rotatable,
large-diaphragm (1.06-inch) capsules and low-noise FET electronics.
Retail: $999.

STUDIO PROJECTS B SERIES
January 2002—At the fall 2001 AES, Studio Projects showed its B
Series of 1-inch diaphragm condenser mics that resemble its popular C
Series but at a lower price. The $99 B1 is a solid-state,
single-pattern design. The TB1 is a tube version of the B1 at $399 with
power supply and aluminum carry case. The $199 B3 is a solid-state
model with switchable cardioid, omni, figure-8 polar patterns. TO READ THE REVIEW, CLICK HERE.

STUDIO PROJECTS T3
July 2001—Studio Projects’ T3 ($1,099) incorporates a special hand-selected 6072 “dual-triode” vacuum tube for improved consistency in matched pairs. The T3 is powered by a dedicated AC power supply with a completely variable polar pattern selector, and has a dual 1-inch mylar capsule that’s designed for vocals and overhead choir, strings, piano and percussion recordings. A foam windscreen and elastic suspension shock-mount are included, as are a 7-pin interface cable and a combination-locked aluminum carrying case. TO READ THE REVIEW, CLICK HERE.

STUDIO PROJECTS C SERIES
October 2000—The C Series is a joint effort between Studio
Projects and 797 Audio, resulting in a new line of superior-sounding
large-diaphragm condenser mics using the latest in manufacturing and
materials, providing high-quality mics at an affordable price. The
models are the C1 fixed cardioid ($299.99 retail). The C3, a
three-pattern with pad and highpass filter ($599.99); and the T3 is a
dual-triode tube design with variable power supply and case. All mics
include shockmounts.
