The new TAPCO by Mackie brand (booth #5913) will display its newfamily of affordable, high-performance studio monitors that wereconceived and engineered by the same design team behind the Mackie HRSeries studio monitors.
The 8-inch TAPCO S*8 (pictured, above) and 5.25-inch TAPCO S*5(pictured, below) are both two-way, bi-amplified monitors with dualhigh-precision internal amplifiers that deliver a total of 120 wattsRMS (60 watts for the woofer and 60 watts for the tweeter). Both modelsoffer the same 1-inch waveguide-loaded silk-dome tweeter for smooth,nonfatiguing high end.
Rear panel controls on the S*5 and S*8 allow for acoustic tailoringwith low-frequency boost and high-frequency cut/boost switches. Inputsinclude 1/4-inch TRS/XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced. All rear panelcontrols and connections are recessed into a high-quality amplifierpanel. The front panel includes separate power and clipping LEDs.
The TAPCO S*5 and TAPCO S*8 are currently available for $499 and$749 per pair, respectively.
