Construction on Threshold Sound + Vision’s (West Los Angeles)new mastering suite is almost complete, and preliminary work on the newMix Room has begun with designer George Augsperger and contractorsBlair Construction. The Mix Room will feature Threshold’sbeautifully restored vintage Neve 8078 and have full surroundcapabilities. The Mix Room is set for a February opening and a party isin the works.
Threshold has also been busy with recent music and video projects.On the audio front, chief mastering engineer Stephen Marsh completedfinal mastering for Terri Lyne Carrington’s Jazz Is aSpirit, which features the talents of Herbie Hancock and KevinEubanks, among others. The album was released last month on the ACTmusic label. Mootroo/Interscope artists Campfire Girls also masteredtheir long-awaited Delongpre with Marsh at Threshold. Recentvideo projects include a series of Alanis Morrisette TV spots promotingher new DVD Feast on Scraps for Maverick Records with videomastermind Mikey P. In with editor Marc Schrobilgen was director DanielEzralow and producer Ian Point posting a music video of “Gira Con MeQuesta Notte” for Warner Brothers artist Josh Groban.
