Beginning with the fall 2003 semester, Berklee College ofMusic’s Professional Writing and Music Technology majors not onlyhad a bundle of required textbooks to purchase, they also had to showup with a Macintosh G4 computer equipped with Waves’ new BerkleeBundle. The specially designed, affordably priced package is comprisedof five plug-in processors: Renaissance Reverb, EQ, and Compressor, theC1 Parametric Compander and S1 Stereo Imager.

The decision to choose Waves DSP plug-ins was made by Berklee aspart of a comprehensive plan to require all students to acquire certaincritical technology platforms. All incoming students must now purchaseApple G4 laptop computers equipped with certain software packages. Aspart of academic initiative, students are asked to add other specificplatforms upon choosing certain majors. Those who choose one of fivemajors from the Professional Writing and Music Technologydivisions—including the departments of Contemporary Writing andProduction, Film Scoring, Songwriting, Music Synthesis, and MusicProduction and Engineering—must own the Waves Berklee Bundle aspart of their academic toolset.
