Listen Technologies Appoints Andrew Glasmacher as Product Training Manager

— As part of its ongoing growth, Listen Technologies adds Glasmacher as additional resource for dealers and end users —

BLUFFDALE, UT Listen Technologies Corporation, a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of assistive listening products for over 16 years, announces the appointment of Andrew Glasmacher as Listen Product Training Manager (LPTM). The announcement was made by Tim Schaeffer, Listen Technologies Vice-President of Sales, and reflects the brand’s ongoing dedication to providing resources and training to its dealers and end users. As LPTM, Andrew will be responsible for training across all Listen Technologies products, as well as specific training around surrounding particular initiatives throughout the year.

Notably, Andrew will be heading up Listen’s renowned industry-standard Hearing Loop Level 1 and Level 2 classes. Andrew has received rigorous hands-on training directly from Ampetronic, the world-leading provider of audio induction loop systems for assisting individuals with hearing loss (and a close partner of Listen Technologies), putting him in the ideal position to pass along that knowledge to Listen’s user base and bring the Hearing Loop training to the next level. [Note: Level 1 training is worth 1 RU of InfoComm CTS and Level 2 is worth 4 RU.]

Tim Schaefer states, “We are glad to have Andrew on board as our LPTM. These training sessions are of the utmost importance for industry professionals, and Andrew is the right person to lead them. Designing a loop system can be very simple, but it is also easy to make a mistake and end up with an inadequate system. Hearing Loop Training gives you the expertise you’ll need to understand specification and design considerations of different types of loop systems, basic, advanced, and phased array, and also to understand Installation, setting up, testing, and certifying a loop system to the IEC60118-4 standard.”

Andrew has a lifelong fascination with audio. He started as a drummer and quickly transitioned into working sound for bands in the SF Bay area. He learned recording working in local studios and went back to school, earning a bachelor’s degree in Sound Arts in 2005. Since then, he has worked as a Production Assistant for a major label songwriter and as an Operations Manager for Guitar Center. From Guitar Center, he went on to work as a Territory Representative for HARMAN International, handling the Rocky Mountain Region. He eventually landed a position at Poll Sound, a major Utah audio systems integrator, where he worked for the past five years as a sales engineer, and first met Listen Technology personnel and became familiar with their products.

Glasmacher states, “My new position as Product Training Manager for Listen Technologies comes at a great time. Many of my longtime musician friends are now suffering hearing loss, so the company’s products have personal significance. My experiences and training in audio and my love of being in front of people have now converged!”
