Santa Monica, CA, November, 2007 — Popular young rapper Nash the Kid has mastered his debut album, “Our Broken Home” at Cobaltt Mastering, the new suite at Bruce Maddocks‘ Cups ‘N‘ Strings Studios. “We checked out a lot of mastering studios,” says Nash, “but the chemistry was best right here with Bruce.”

Reflecting such influences as Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, and other classic singer/songwriters, Nash the Kid has garnered a steady and loyal following in his emerging Southern California career. Prior to his solo debut, he fronted an 8-piece hip-hop band called The Flynn. He has also performed with The Kotton Mouth Kings and has played in clubs across the California southland, including The Whiskey and The Soho.

Executive producer Chris Alexander remarked: “I came across Nash about a year ago and immediately recognized a captivating performer with insightful lyrics and distinctive music that is a blend of blues, folk, and R&B with a strong urban hip-hop delivery.”

Tracks for the new album were recorded, mixed and produced by Jeremy Hanlon at Kitchen Works Studios in Thousand Oaks. “The songs just sound so much fuller after Bruce got his hands on ‘em in mastering,” says Nash. “He made the drums come forward, and brought the vocals to the perfect level where they needed to be. And the way he blended the midranges made it so clean. He just does a great job.”

“Our Broken Home” is available on CD Baby, iTunes, and at the website: http://www.midnitetheory.com
