SonicPool Announces Latest Film Projects

Hollywood, CA, Sept. 6, 2007 – SonicPool, one of Hollywood‘s leading post facilities, specializing in audio and video finishing, edit suite rentals, and full post-production services, has announced the company‘s most recent work in the areas of feature films, film trailers and film festivals. These projects include the company‘s work in the areas of providing editorial suites, mixing/sweetening and providing online services. The announcement was made by John Frost and Patrick Bird, co-founders/Supervising Sound Mixers, SonicPool.

SonicPool‘s latest feature film work includes:

Providing Full Editorial Suites:

“Bratz:” The feature film “Bratz” was edited in SonicPool‘s state of the art editing suites. The film‘s editor, Jeff Canavan, utilized two edit suites, utilizing SonicPool‘s fiber channel shared storage. Previously, Canavan had edited another indie film at SonicPool, entitled “Watching the Detectives,” and will soon be editing a third.

Sound Design and Mix for Feature Films:

“Lonely Street:” For this comedy/mystery/thriller, SonicPool will be providing sound design and mix. “Lonely Street” stars Jay Mohr, Robert Patrick, Joe Mantegna, Nikki Cox and Paul Rodriguez. The film tells the story of a private detective who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a tabloid reporter, after being hired to snoop on him by a mysterious celebrity. The client for this project was Patrick Newall, Chris Brinker, and Coni Fry of Lonely Street Productions.

“Midnight Clear”: For client Jenkins Entertainment, SonicPool will also be providing sound design and mix for “Midnight Clear.” The storyline: On Christmas Eve in the Arizona desert, a middle-aged man (Stephen Baldwin) and an old woman (K Callan) contemplate suicide. But through chance run-ins with strangers and perhaps some divine intervention, they cross paths and change each other’s life forever. Based on a story from best-selling author Jerry B. Jenkins, this Christmas Special is a parable for today about how random acts of kindness can, unbeknownst to us all, have a life-altering impact on others.

Mixing/Onlining for Feature Film Trailers and TV Spots:

“Fierce People:” For client After Dark Films, SonicPool has provided mixing and on-lining for the feature film trailer and TV spots promoving “Fierce People.” That film starts Diane Lane, Donald Sutherland and Elizabeth Perkins. Trapped in his mother’s Lower East Side apartment, sixteen-year-old Finn (Anton Yelchin) wants nothing more than to escape New York and spend the summer in South America studying the Iskanani Indians, or “Fierce People”, with the anthropologist father he’s never met. But Finn’s dreams are shattered when he is arrested in a desperate effort to help his drug-dependent mother, Liz (Diane Lane), who scrapes by working as a masseuse.

Onlining and Sweetening for Film Festival:

“Horrorfest:” For clients After Dark Films and Sweet Spot, SonicPool is providing all of the Online and Sweetening Finishing Services for all the Trailers, behind-the-scenes segments and internet pieces promoting this festival, also known as “8 Films To Die For.” “Horrorfest” is an annual, three-night horror film festival featuring eight independent horror movies, with possible “secret” bonus films, all distributed by After Dark Films in the USA. The festival will run from November 9-November 11, 2007, in 500 different theaters around the United States.

The films that will be shown during “Horrorfest” are “The Abandoned,” “Unrest,”

“Penny Dreadful,” “The Gravedancers,” “The Hamiltons,” “Reincarnation,”

“Dark Ride,” “Wicked Little Things” and “Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror.”

ABOUT SONICPOOL:

Launched in Hollywood in 2001, SonicPool was co-founded by audio post production specialists John Frost and Patrick Bird. Each of the men currently serves the company as a Supervising Sound Mixer.
