Symetrix’ Busy 2015 Training Program to Highlight Advantages of Dante-Based DSP

The digital signal processing specialist has confirmed a slew of sessions for the Dante newcomer, as well as co-sponsorship of Audinate-organised training events across the US.

SEATTLE, WA — MARCH 2015: The advantages of a fully networked solution are increasingly evident across market sectors, but the reality is that the educational efforts to support the transition aren’t always in place. Digital signal processing specialist Symetrix, however, is at the forefront of companies working to address this knowledge shortfall – and to this end has announced plans for a series of training sessions to run from spring through summer.

“The popularity of our DSP solutions that offer support for Audinate’s Dante media networking technology continues to grow,” confirms Trent Wagner, senior product manager, Symetrix. “We are aware, however, that for many users networking still represents a brave new world, so this year we are undertaking our most extensive training programme to date to ensure that our customers can achieve optimum results from their Dante implementations.”

With this in mind, Symetrix will host entry-level seminars in Minneapolis (March 3-4) and Chicago (March 5) that give attendees a grounding in networked audio and the currently available protocols, before heading into a more detailed explanation of Dante and its benefits. There will also be recreations of several different scenarios – including a live stage set-up, a hospitality environment and a teleconferencing implementation – so that visitors can get hands-on and test out their Dante skills. In addition, Symetrix has confirmed sponsorship of a series of Dante AV Networking World (AVNW) events organised by Audinate. The free, full-day events are geared towards anyone involved with the design and installation of networked audio systems, including design consultants, system integrators and sound engineers. The interactive sessions will introduce attendees to the benefits of Dante audio-over-IP networking, showcase example Dante installations, and feature a complete afternoon of hands-on training and live demonstrations with input from Symetrix technical sales engineer Greg Suchomel.

More than 100 pieces of Dante-enabled equipment will be in use for training and demonstration during the AVNW tour, which in its next round of dates will visit: Seattle, WA (March 25); Philadelphia, PA (April 22); Houston, TX (May 12); Dallas, TX (May 14); and Orlando, FL (June 16). Symetrix has also confirmed that Dante training will take place through its Swiss distributor, GoWild AG, on March 16, and anyone interested in attending should contact Patrik Scherrer ([email protected]). In addition, the company’s Chinese distributor, Sanecore, will be initiating monthly training sessions in its new facility starting from March, while Symetrix promises further training programmes to follow as it seeks to address the needs of its ever-expanding global customer base.
