Remastering Live Grateful Dead

While The Grateful Dead recorded plenty of albums, the group will always be best remembered for its live performances. Bringing both words together, the band’s Europe ’72 album documented the Dead’s tour across the continent in the early 1970s, and went on to become of its best-selling releases. Rhino Records recently re-released the album in a triple-LP 180-gram vinyl edition, housed in original replica packaging, complete with the artwork of Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse as well as an 8 page booklet.  For Deadheads, as well as vinyl aficionados, here’s a video look at the mastering process for the special edition, featuring Rhino's Media Asset Supervisor Charles Benson joined by mastering engineer Chris Bellman in the disc cutting studio to cut lacquers from the original 1/4" analog stereo masters.
