New York (September 13, 2010)—Avid has introduced the M-Audio GSR portable sound reinforcement speaker series.

New York (September 13, 2010)—Avid has introduced the M-Audio GSR portable sound reinforcement speaker series.

The GSR series includes 10″ and 12″ full-range PA cabinets and an 18″ subwoofer. The GSR10 250-watt and GSR12 300-watt two-way active PA speakers feature Neodymium magnets in the low-frequency drivers. The GSR18 500-watt active subwoofer features four locking casters. All three models are built with Class D amplifiers.

The speakers come with four EQ presets designed for multiple applications–DJ, live performance, music playback and public address. The GSR18 has variable low-frequency crossover functionality, allowing it to be tuned for flat frequency response. The GSR10 and GSR12 models use “OptImage wave guide technology” to tackle dispersion and off-axis response

The GSR10 and GSR12 can be placed on built-in 1.4″ pole mounts, suspended from M10 integrated fly-points, or stacked and locked on top of each other. The GSR18 features an integrated 1.4″ speaker stand receptacle, allowing users to secure a speaker above the subwoofer.

“We are very excited about the possibilities this new speaker series will bring to musicians and DJs working in small to mid-sized venues,” said Tanguy Leborgne, vice president, Creative Enthusiasts at Avid. “We’ve applied our world-class speaker design expertise to build a versatile sound reinforcement speaker series that offers a level of sound quality typically only available in higher-priced options.”
