New York (January 6, 2011)–Bosch Security Systems, Inc., Communications Systems Division has joined the AVnu Alliance as a promoter member.

“Bosch Communications Systems is a strong supporter of open media networking standards,” says Bill Scott, vice president of Engineering and Technology. “We believe that a goal of media networking development should be universal interoperability. For this to happen, the industry needs to educate the marketplace, and it needs a widely accepted compliance certification process. Bosch Communications Systems is pleased to have joined the AVnu Alliance in order to promote these principles.”

“We welcome Bosch Communications Systems to the AVnu Alliance,” states Lee Minich, AVnu Alliance Marketing Work Group Chairman, “and in joining our shared vision for interoperable AV networking via Audio Video Bridging (AVB) technologies.”

The AVnu Alliance is an industry forum dedicated to the advancement of professional-quality audio video by promoting the adoption of the IEEE 802.1 Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) standards over various networking link-layers. The organization creates compliance test procedures and processes that ensure AVB interoperability of networked A/V devices. The Alliance promotes awareness of the benefits of AVB technologies and intends to collaborate with other organizations and entities to make use of this work in their respective efforts to provide a better end-user A/V experience. The Alliance is focused on applications of these technologies in the automotive, consumer electronics and professional A/V markets.
