Crown Point Church Upgrades With QSC

The Crown Point Church of the Assemblies of God recently upgraded its sound system in its sanctuary with a QSC Audio KLA line array system and KW Series speakers.

Kansas City, MO (July 18, 2012)–The Crown Point Church of the Assemblies of God recently upgraded its sound system in its sanctuary with a QSC Audio KLA line array system and KW Series speakers.

The new sound system consists of six KLA12 12-inch, two-way, self-powered loudspeakers and four KLA181 18-inch active subwoofers. An extra KW152 15-inch, two-way trapezoidal cabinet was installed to extend coverage to the 500-seat sanctuary. Each KLA12 loudspeaker is capable of delivering 500 W Class D continuous output, while each KLA181 offers 1000 W Class D continuous output.

Richard Troutman, senior design consultant at Advanced Sound & Communications, said aesthetics were a high priority while installing the sound system.

“The challenge here was that aesthetics were as important as having an optimum sound, and the church officials wanted the entire system hidden from view,” Troutman said. “Crown Pointe wanted the KLA181s flown because they were tired of looking at the big subwoofers they used to have on the ground. So we took the QSC subwoofers up above the drop ceiling and put in some vented panels.”
