Knoxville, TN (December 17, 2015)—Everyone has a different opinion about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, but one thing we all can (probably) agree on is that the man knows how to make himself heard. In the case of a recent rally in Knoxville, TN, that meant using local audio vendor M&M Productions USA to reach 10,000 people packed inside the 120,000-square-foot Exhibit Hall of the Knoxville Convention Center.
M&M Productions USA specializes in broadcasting and video, as well as corporate and political events, typically producing more than 400 events a year, often with live entertainment as part of the mix. For the Trump rally, Mike Brown, president and CEO of M&M, brought in a dozen FBT Muse 210LA loudspeakers, reporting afterwards that Trump was pleased with the event’s sound.
“Setting up sound in a ballroom of that size, for a stage in the round, presents some challenging issues,” said Brown. “We shot over to the sides with six Muse 210LAs on each side, and filled behind and to the front of the stage with a few smaller point-and-shoot boxes just to warm those areas. The FBTs did all of the heavy lifting though.”
The candidate, it turned out, is hands-on when it comes to his events. “Mr. Trump has his own playlist on a personal iPad that he wants played at his rallies—and he wants it loud,” said Brown. “I’m talking everything from Phantom of the Opera to Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones and Adele…. When the music was over and we got down to just his voice, the sound was clean and totally natural, all while throwing out about 215 feet in each direction.”
According to Brown, Trump approached him after the rally, saying, “The sound was amazing today. Just great. Incredible job.”
