With production managers Butch Wilhelmi and Patrick Raddatz, and Gand system techs Joe Perona, Adam Rosenthal, Bob Murr, the team provided audio for three stages: the main stage featured 24 Nexo Geo-Ts, 12 CD-18s, a Yamaha PM5D at front of house; the side stage featured 16 Geo-Ts, 8 CD-18s, a Yamaha M7CL at front of house; and the kids stage featured a new Geo S line array and a Yamaha LS9 digital console.

The opening night’s concert featured the Elgin Symphony Orchestra for which Gand has provided audio for decades. Symphony FOH mixer Adam Rosenthal remarked of the Nexo rig that “not only is it a very accurate and musical system, the cardioid pattern is especially crucial when managing 60 large diaphragm condenser mics scattered about the stage.” The day after the symphony, the same system rocked the town with Blues Traveler.

“We’ve used GEO-T for hundreds of shows,” said Tim Swan, Gand’s vice president, “and it is always amazing how this system can reproduce every nuance of a singer like Tony Bennett one night and follow that up the next night with bone-crushing SPL for Ted Nugent, always with the same end result…fantastic audio quality that clients, audiences, artists, and engineers rave about.”
