Hagar Gets Historical with Martin Audio

Sammy Hagar recently sold-out the Maryland Heights Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, on his “A Journey Through the History of Rock” tour, featuring tracks from his Montrose, Van Halen and Chickenfoot eras along with numerous Zeppelin covers. Fittingly, Sammy was supported by Michael Anthony on bass, Jason Bonham on drums and guitarist Vic Johnson from Waboritas. Tackling audio for the event was Ironman Sound Industries, which provided a Martin Audio W8LC speaker system.

St. Louis, MO (August 14, 2014)––Sammy Hagar recently sold-out the Maryland Heights Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, on his “A Journey Through the History of Rock” tour, featuring tracks from his Montrose, Van Halen and Chickenfoot eras along with numerous Zeppelin covers. Fittingly, Sammy was supported by Michael Anthony on bass, Jason Bonham on drums and guitarist Vic Johnson from Waboritas. Tackling audio for the event was Ironman Sound Industries, which provided a Martin Audio W8LC speaker system.

ISI President Bob Horner, who served as Production Manager for the show, noted, “Hagar was doing a five-week tour with ten dates, including smaller venues and sheds, and they were only carrying stage gear and video, so we supplied them with racks and stacks and a full lighting package.

“For the PA, we had our Martin Audio rig with 32 W8LCs for the main hang, 24 W8LMs for outfill, four W8LMDs for frontfill and two-dozen WSX subs,” he recounted. “We’d played the venue before, so there were no major challenges besides making sure everything was hung correctly and properly EQ’d. Sammy’s FOH engineer Tony Luna, who’s mixed KISS and Aerosmith among others, was super happy with the system, and Jerry Harvey of JH Audio who used to mix Van Halen, thought the rig sounded great as well.”
