Mackie DL1608 16-Channel Digital Live Sound Mixer with iPad Control

Unveiled to much excitement at Winter NAMM 2012, the Mackie DL1608 combines a full-featured digital mixer with an iPad; it features 16 clean Onyx mic preamps, 24-bit Cirrus Logic AD/DA converters, plus seamless wired-to-wireless iPad control, meaning users can mix from anywhere in a venue, using the DL1608‘s built-in processing such as EQ, dynamics, and effects plug-ins. The DL1608 even supports up to 10 iPad devices for impressive personal monitor mixing flexibility.

Other hardware features include 6 aux sends for monitor mixes and master L/R output for mains. Digital processing features include 4-band EQ, gate and compression on inputs; 31-band GEQ and comp/limiter on outputs; and global reverb and delay.

Complete control of the DL1608 from an iPad gives users a variety of capabilities, including an intuitive Master Fader app; “Grow and Glow” visual feedback; preset and snapshot recall; 2 channel recording to the iPad for instant sharing; and the integration of music from any app into the mix.

The DL1608 has a compact footprint (15.5″ x 11.5″ x 3.9″), low weight (less than 7 lbs.), and features PadLock for permanent installs (locking down the mixer’s iPad) via an industry-standard Kensington lock.

Price: $999 street (iPad not included)
