LAS VEGAS, NV—Midas/Klark Teknik has announced that its North American distribution is moving back inhouse in conjunction with establishing its U.S. headquarters at a new Las Vegas address. By cutting out a middle level of operation, and corresponding overhead, Jay Easely, who will run the new operation, says there will be a substantial cost savings passed along to Midas customers, most notably with the PRO series of consoles.
“We will be very competitive with PRO Series in the marketplace,” says Easley, encouraging customers to contact him for details. A new tollfree phone number will get customers “to every division of our company,” Easley adds, offering his own cell number for access during the transition (and beyond). Easley, who has worked with the brands for 12 years, says his new title, associate VP, customer service, reflects the Midas parent company, Music Group’s, belief that all aspects of its operation, sales, service and support, are essential customer- service functions, says Easley: “It’s the way it should be done; it’s the way it should be run.”
Temporary space is currently being outfitted in Las Vegas, with a purchase in negotiation for a permanent facility for the wholly owned Music Group subsidiary, Midas North America. The move, which sees the amicable severing of ties to former distributor, American Music & Sound, has been in effect for a couple weeks. The new facility will house all support functions, sales, marketing, technical and service, for Midas for the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean (support was formerly located in South Haven, MS), while warehousing, credit and distribution of new product will be handled under contract with Chesterton, IN-based AV distributor, Starin. The Midas U.K. support team will also assist during the transition to insure customers have immediate access for any inquiries.
The new location in the “entertainment capital of the world,” shares a time zone with the U.S. West Coast, and is on the touring schedule and other itineraries of many Midas customers, which, “allows us to get closer to our customers” says Easley. The new headquarters will also house a demonstration showroom and serve as the center of customer-training operations. The current Midas/Klark Teknik dealer and rep force remain intact.
