Pulling Back The Curtain On Console R&D

Live mixing desk research and design is usually conducted in secret, but a new workshop just added to the AES 59th International Conference, taking place July 15-17, 2015, at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, will pull back the curtains on the topic of console R&D. "Sound Reinforcement Console Design – Now and the Future,” will kick off the conference’s third day, Friday, July 17, at 9 a.m. EDT.

New York, NY (July 14, 2015)—Live mixing desk research and design is usually conducted in secret, but a new workshop just added to the AES 59th International Conference, taking place July 15-17, 2015, at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, will pull back the curtains on the topic of console R&D. “Sound Reinforcement Console Design—Now and the Future,” will kick off the conference’s third day, Friday, July 17, at 9 a.m. EDT.

The session will feature panelists Bob Snelgrove from DiGiCo, Don Wershba from Solid State Logic and Kevin Kimmel from Yamaha, speaking about their current designs and future plans. The panel is just one part of a Conference-long emphasis on Sound Reinforcement Engineering and Technology.

Richard King, AES 59th Conference Co-coordinator, states, “Come and have an exclusive sneak-peak into the future of sound reinforcement console development, and ask questions of these highly knowledgeable representatives. This morning’s workshop will lead directly into a workshop/tutorial on mixing hosted by Meyer Sound’s Buford Jones.”
