New Orleans, LA (July 20, 2011)–Alejandro Sanz recently performed through a sizable D.A.S. line array system provided by Chicago-based audio provider Sound of Authority.
Sound of Authority, responsible for providing the personnel and carrying out the sound installation for the Congo Square Stage at this year’s New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, chose D.A.S. Aero Series 2 Line Array systems, suing a main system of 20 D.A.S. Aero 50 large-format line array modules for the space.
Two linear formations of 10 Aero 50 units each were set up on opposite sides of the stage, and 12 high-performance D.A.S. LX-218 passive subwoofers were piled in front of the stage in a cardioid configuration for low frequency support. The system was processed by a D.A.S. DSP-4080 digital signal processor and amplified by Powersoft K6.
FOH Engineer Fernando Díaz remarked afterwards, ‘We are already familiar with D.A.S. Aero systems and had used them recently in Spain, so they were extremely easy to operate. Their response is amazing and I felt very comfortable with them.”
