Sound Image Nabs New Midas Pro6

Sound Image has purchased its first Midas Pro6 digital console, which was put to work immediately on the current Diddy Dirty Money tour

Sound Image founder/president Dave Shadoan with his new Midas Pro6 Escondido, CA (June 13, 2011)–Sound Image has purchased its first Midas Pro6 digital console, which was put to work immediately on the current Diddy Dirty Money tour

That tour, featuring Sean “P Diddy” Combs, has veteran FOH engineer Joel Lonky at the controls. After the completion of the tour, Lonky will continue with the Pro6 on the upcoming Rob Zombie tour.

Best known for its high-profile touring sound division, Sound Image is heavily involved in both the contracting and corporate event markets. “We take great pride in providing what our clients request,” says company founder and president Dave Shadoan. “The Midas Pro Series consoles have a great reputation, and they are starting to show up on tour riders. I know a lot of engineers who have been hardcore Midas analog guys, and they’ve been won over by the Pro Series. So I guess you could say this purchase was market-driven.”

The Midas Pro6 features 56 standard primary inputs (plus eight returns) via its DL351 modular input/output box, with further flexibility availability via three configurable card slots on the back of the mixing surface.

“We’ve always been big Midas fans here,” notes Shadoan, “In fact, we still have several Midas analog consoles in stock, and they’re still in high demand. They’ve paid for themselves many times over, which is a tradition we expect to continue with the Pro Series.”

“This is just the beginning for us,” announces Shadoan. “We’re already in the early stages of purchasing three more consoles – two Pro9s and another Pro6. And just like this first one, we expect to have them on the road right away. They will be in our inventory, but not in our warehouse!”
