Ft. Wayne, IN (October 17, 2012)—Sweetwater may be best-known for its online retailing, but it also has its own recording facility, Sweetwater Productions, which recently saved the day for Godsmack on the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival Tour.

Godsmack’s production team phoned Sweetwater Productions at 3 PM on a Friday this past September, calling with a last-minute request. As it turned out, the band was performing a concert in Indianapolis the next day as part of the Uproar Tour and the sound company it had hired had cancelled at the last minute. Looking to avert disaster, the call was a request for Sweetwater Productions to record the show and bring extra mics and equipment.

Sweetwater Productions’ crew was there at 9 AM the next morning for load-in and that night recorded all four main-stage acts: Adelitas Way, Staind, Godsmack and Shinedown. Total recording time was over four hours, done via locking up an Avid Pro Tools HDX rig to Godsmack’s Avid Venue console, streaming 80-plus tracks.
