Taking Lincoln Center’s Audio Outside

New York City’s Lincoln Center is known as an artistic enclave, housing multiple major venues like David Geffen Hall, home of the NY Philharmonic and the David H. Koch Theater, which houses the New York City Ballet. When it gets warm outside, however, the music comes outside too with the annual Mid Summer Night’s Swing, an outdoor dance hall, and four weeks later, the Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival, both held in adjacent Damrosch Park.

New York, NY (November 3, 2017)—New York City’s Lincoln Center is known as an artistic enclave, housing multiple major venues like David Geffen Hall, home of the NY Philharmonic and the David H.

Audio Incorporated (Roselle Park, NJ) tackled for both events in 2017, much as it has for the last 15 years. This year, that meant providing audio for The Harlem Renaissance Orchestra, The Paul Taylor Dance Company, Nick Lowe and Bonnie Raitt, just to name a few.

For both events, Audio Incorporated provided a Nexo STM Line Array System, according to Stephen Tolve, president/co-owner. Also on-hand was a Yamaha CL5 digital audio console for front of house mixing, two Rio 3224-D input output boxes and one Rio 1608-D, as well as a PM5D for monitors. This year, the main system signal chain was digital direct from the Rios boxes to the Nexo amp racks using Dante.

The Nexo system was configured with a total of eight STM B118s, eight B112s, eight STM M46s, and four M28-120s, all powered by four Nexo Nuar racks. Two delay towers were also used and consisted of two Nexo STM M46s, four M28-90s, and two Nexo NXAMP 4×4 amplifiers.
