Waterdown, Ontario, Canada (August 12, 2019)—Waterdown’s Oh Canada Ribfest, held for four days from June 28 to July 1 in Memorial Park, drew its largest attendance ever as 54,000 people came to enjoy ribs, family fun, entertainment and more ribs. Celebrating the event’s 10 year, six ribbers, 40 vendors and hundreds of volunteers came out to ensure the event achieved its motto, “A big ribfefst with a smalltown feel.” On hand to cover the crowds at the event’s main stage was a sizable Yorkville Sound Synergy Array Series active point source system.
Groundstacked in a four-over-four configuration, the Synergy Array Series covered an estimated 4,000 people at any given time during evening performances, which ranged from country to blues to classic rock. The Synergy Array Series consists of the SA153 full-range powered cabinet, along with the SA315S powered subwoofer, creating a point source speaker system intended to be scaleable for club gigs of all sizes, outdoor festivals, inclined seating venues, and arenas.
Gracing the stage likewise was a slew of Yorkville Sound PS12p Parasource Series stage monitors, and hanging above at the front of the stage were a number of Yorkville’s Legacy Series LP-LED4 LED Stage Lighting units as well.
In the wake of the long weekend, sound engineer Norm Thornton, who mixed classic rock-style band at the event, enthused about the Synergy Array Series on Facebook, noting, “I love working with this rig,” and later adding, “I got rave reviews [despite being] was under some volume restraints from neighbors.”
