The 27th Annual TEC Awards has announced the Nominees for Technical Achievement, comprising 114 products in 19 categories of product innovation. Based on submissions by audio manufacturers, a panel of 160 industry professionals voted for the nominations. Later this month, the TEC Foundation will announce nominees in eight categories of Creative Achievement.
TEC Awards voter registration will begin on Monday, October 17, and will be offered by invitation to members of the Recording Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing, Music Producers Guild, SPARS, APRS, and Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.), as well as to subscribers to Mix, Pro Sound News, Pro Sound News Europe and Pro Audio Review.
Online voting for all 27 categories of audio product design and sound production will begin November 1.
The TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio (TFEA) and NAMM, the largest international music products trade show, will jointly present the TEC Awards. The TFEA will continue to serve as executive producers of the show, working in cooperation with NAMM production and event management staff.
The awards ceremony will be held on Friday, January 20, and will be the signature evening event at the 2012 NAMM Show, bringing together the brightest lights in audio technology and production with the leading innovators in electronic musical products.
