Adamson Joins the Party as Tempo Turns One

The Caribbean lifestyle TV channel from MTV Networks, Tempo, celebrated its first anniversary this past November with the Tempo Turns One concert and a sound system that featured Adamson arrays.

The concert was headlined by Morgan Heritage, the Alison Hinds Show, Machel Montano & Xtatic, Denise Belfon, Wayne Marshall and Sweet Mickey, as well as local favorites Kenya, the Stroka Band, The Xzecutives and D’Apostle.

The task of setting up the production was given to Frontline Systems, a locally based production company that owns its own high-end pro gear and six Adamson T-21 Subs.
The crew put up two arrays of eight Adamson Y10s, with three Adamson SX18s underneath as front fills.

“[Adamson] boxes are melodic, have high SPL and smooth coverage,” says Frontline Systems owner Rick Jarvis. “The farther away you get from them, the louder they get. Usually, you lose the low end as you move away from a sub, but these are a different breed of speakers.”

For stage monitors, Frontline used a combination of existing stage monitors and four Adamson M15 multipurpose enclosures. “I’m going to replace all my monitors with M15s some time in the future,” Jarvis concludes. “I’ve never heard anything like them.”
