Aldean Tours With Audio-Technica

Country artist Jason Aldean is currently touring in support of his sophomore project, Relentles (Broken Bow Records). He played more than 200 shows in 2006, and has a busy touring schedule for 2007 in support of this album. Aldean, an Audio-Technica endorser, explains the mic company’s part in getting his sound across faithfully in the live arena: “It’s easy to go out and play every night when you know the equipment you are using sounds great and is always reliable.”

Front-of-house engineer/production manager Chris Torri says, “These are absolutely the best mixes of my life, and the only thing that’s changed is the microphones. The AEW-T5400 [handheld microphone/transmitter] on Jason’s vocals is so clean it’s in your face. It gives you all the body you want without overemphasizing any of the high end. I couldn’t be happier. Audio-Technica has the best customer service, and the product is unbelievable.”

Other A-T mics out on this tour include the Artist Elite 5000 Series with the AEW-T5400 handheld mic/transmitter on vocals; AE4100 is used for backup vocals; guitar rigs take the AT4047/SV and AT4050; the AT4033/CL is on bass and hi hat; the dual-element AE2500 handles kick drum duties; the ATM23HE is on rack tom, and top and bottom snare; the ATM25 captures floor toms; and the AT4033 is on overhead and ride. The Artist Elite 4000 Series Wireless System is used with UniPak transmitters for all guitar and bass.
