Apogee Ensemble Stand-Alone Mode

Apogee Electronics Corporation announces Stand-Alone Mode, a new feature for its digitally controlled multichannel audio interface, Ensemble. This new firmware allows users to operate Ensemble without a FireWire connection to a Macintosh. Stand-Alone Mode offers users the option of using their Ensemble as a high-end converter and mic pre, independent of the computer.

Ensemble’s new Stand-Alone Mode means that low latency and routing settings need only be configured in Maestro once, at which point Ensemble remembers the settings, even when disconnected from the computer. Moreover, all front panel settings, such as mic pre gain and output levels, are fully functional while in Stand-Alone Mode. Changes to routing or settings in Maestro still require connectivity to a Macintosh computer.
