ART Announces Pro Channel II Tube-Based Recording Channel

Applied Research and Technology in Niagara Falls, New York, a division of Yorkville Sound, announces the new ART Pro Channel II ($379 MSRP), an affordable, full-featured tube-based recording channel. ART’s second-generation discrete Class-A microphone preamp provides clean quiet gain while maintaining incredible transparency. A powerful dynamics processor subtly controls transients and noise of the most demanding sources.

The ART Pro Channel II’s semi-parametric EQ offers wide tune-ability and can be patched before or after the dynamics processor. Separate insertion jacks allow the use of external signal processing gear immediately after the mic preamp and before the EQ and dynamics processor. Both analog and LED meters provide a detailed indication of audio levels.

The ART Pro Channel II also features a front panel mounted ¼-inch Hi-Z instrument input. This allows the the ART Pro Channel II to be used with a wide variety of musical instruments as a front end to an instrument amplifier. The ¼-inch T/S jack on the front panel provides a high impedance unbalanced input, and when used, automatically switches off the mic preamp.

The Pro Channel II is housed in a standard two-rackspace steel chassis with a CNC routed black anodized aluminum face panel, designed for years of reliable operation in the studio, production facility, or on the road.

ART states that it will begin shipping the Pro Channel II, which includes a three-year warranty, in January 2012.
