Avatar Studios in New York City reports on a number of notable sessions that took place in its facilities during the month of August 2011.

Sugarland recorded in Studio C with producer Byron Gallimore, engineer Tom Tapley and assistant Bob Mallory.

State Farm made a choral recording in Studio A for a 9/11 commercial with producer Eric David Johnson and engineer Jonathan Duckett, assisted by Charlie Kramsky. Spike Lee directed the commercial.

Joe Jackson recorded in Studio C with engineer Elliot Scheiner assisted by Aki Nishimura.

Esperanza Spalding recorded in Studio G with engineers Fernando Lodeiro and Brian Montgomery assisted by Tim Marchiafava. Esperanza Spalding and Q-Tip are producing the sessions.

Dar Williams recorded in Studio B with producer/engineer Kevin Killen assisted by Fernando Lodeiro.

The Michel Legrand Orchestra, a 52-piece orchestra, recorded in Studio A with producer Sylvain Taillet and engineer Lawrence Manchester, assisted by Bob Mallory and Tim Marchiafava.

The Manhattan Chamber Orchestra recorded in Studio A with producer Howard Cass, engineer Paul Zinman assisted by Tim Marchiafava.

The music for film Friends with Kids was recorded in Studio C with producer/composer Marcelo Zarvos, engineer Erlin Velberg, and assistant Fernando Lodeiro. The film stars Kristen Wiig, Megan Fox, and Jon Hamm.

Christine Ebersole recorded in Studio B with producer John Oddo, engineer Roy Hendrickson, and assistant Tim Marchiafava.

In Studio A, producer High Fordin and engineer Cynthia Daniels, assisted by Aki Nishimura, recorded the cast album for Stage Door Canteen.
