Avid Introduces VENUE | S6L System

At NAB 2015 in Booth #SU902, Avid introduced VENUE | S6L, a fully modular, scalable live sound mixing system for front-of-house, monitors, broadcast, theater and more. VENUE | S6L is powered by VENUE software, integrated with Pro Tools, features a touchscreen interface and OLED displays, and also serves as a front end to the Avid MediaCentral Platform media management and distribution platform. Equipped with the VENUE | E6L live sound engine, VENUE | S6L is designed to handle large channel and plug-in counts at the lowest possible latency. VENUE | S6L processes at 96 Hz and supports higher sample rates.

VENUE | S6L offers greater onboard plug-in processing than previously available, and seamless Pro Tools integration provides streamlined recording and playback functionality, including Virtual Soundcheck,  without the need for a separate audio interface. Furthermore, VENUE | S6L is a networked system and can be completely customized to meet the needs and budget of essentially any professional production.

VENUE | S6L lets users share I/O across multiple networked systems with Avid True Gain advanced gain tracking technology. It interfaces with a range of network and I/O formats, including Ethernet AVB, Dante, MADI, Thunderbolt and more; option cards are available as separate purchases and not included with core systems.

The VENUE | S6L control surface is available in three configurations. S6L-32D: 32 plus 2 faders, 96 assignable knobs, one integrated Master Touchscreen and three integrated Channel Touch Modules; S6L-24D: 24 plus 2 faders, 64 assignable knobs, one integrated Master Touchscreen and two integrated Channel Touch Modules; S6L-24: 24 plus 2 faders, 64 assignable knobs and one integrated Master Touchscreen.

The VENUE | E6L engine is available in two configurations. E6L-192: 192 processing channels, 96 mix buses plus L/C/R; E6L-144: 144 processing channels, 64 mix buses plus L/C/R.

Customers can use multiple Stage 64 racks with VENUE | S6L to meet their I/O needs, with a choice of analog, digital, and networking options.

Avid states that VENUE | S6L can be ordered now, and will ship units to customers in Q3 2015.
