Reggaeton ensemble Axsion camped out at SugarHill Recording Studios to complete their full-length debut, Accion, produced by G Lion 808 from Dubtex, Joe B from Rebel Crew, Draw Beatz and DJ GuerroMIX.
Senior engineer John Griffin recorded the album—a mix of tradition and new reggaeton—in SugarHill’s Studios B and C. ”Working with John was great because he didn’t make me feel like the clock was ticking and he totally gets the sound that you want. If you’re completely comfortable in your studio environment and able to trust your engineer, it doesn’t matter how much time you spend”, says lead vocalist D-Man Escobar. The debut single, “La Fiestah,” out this month, will be featured in the DVD release of the new Sam Mendes movie Jarhead.
