To help home studio owners stay on pleasant terms with their neighbors, movie industry vets Bruce Black and Gordon Ecker have premiered Speaker Floats, a device placed under speakers that aims to block the path of low frequencies traveling to nearby rooms.

Black and Ecker note that one of the easiest and most effective ways to stop this sound transmission is to physically float the speakers. According to Black, “They are made from a high-tech polymer that has very unique properties, outperforming any other material that might be used.”
