Halloween director John Carpenter’s latest Masters of Horror (Showtime) featured an original music score by his son, Cody Carpenter.
“I had an idea for the theme, but it was very much improvised,” said Cody Carpenter. Produced, recorded and mixed by Bruce Robb, Cody Carpenter completed the entire score for the episode on site at Cherokee Studios (Los Angeles) in four-and-a-half days.
“In 30 years, I’ve never seen anyone work on a score at the pace that Cody did, with the one exception of his father,” says Robb, who is also producing the young Carpenter’s debut album at Cherokee, expected to be released in 2006.
