A few weeks after Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems announced that it was ceasing production of the PM1D, the company is now announcing that it is doing the same with the PM5000 SR console, which was officially launched six years ago. The final production model has been purchased by Clair Global (Lititz, Pa.).

“The Yamaha PM5000 is an ideal transitional product in that it combines a familiar interface with elements of analog and digital,” says Clair president Troy Clair. “It is also a great transitional tool for engineers who may not be fully convinced to make a complete move into digital. Yamaha has always listened to the customer, and the PM5000 was certainly a great example of creating a mixing tool based on ‘real-world’ research.”
