Avid S6 control surface
Digital Jungle, an audio post-production facility in Hollywood, Calif., recently overhauled its audio post room with the help of studio builder Grant Headley and studio equipment provider RSPE Audio Solutions, which is based in Universal City, Calif. The final design includes an Avid S6 console, JBL 7.1 monitoring, and new acoustics, furniture, layout and other equipment.
In addition to the services offered in audio post-production, Dennis Ho and company offer voice-over, color correction, screening, 3-D stereoscopic services, editorial, graphics, conversions, image restoration and production offices.
After comprehensive discussions and a variety of renderings to consider operator placement and workflow, Digital Jungle decided on the S6 configuration (pictured), which will allow for up to two operators to control the facility's new Avid Pro Tools|HDX systems, and concentrate on dialog and effects when required..
"I like how it's set up like an old style, analog console," says Headley.
"I love the metering section," adds Russ Johnson. "It makes it really great to quickly gauge what's going on, on what track."
Room completion and delivery of Digital Jungle's new S6 is scheduled for late December.
